If you like to write, you could be a winner of a Nook Color eReader from the Cedar Rapids Public Library.

The library is looking for essay submissions for the “I Love My Library Essay Contest”. Essays should be about what the CR Library means to you, why it is important, and what it means to the community.

The winner will will a Nook and will be asked to read the essay at the new library groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, May 5. Runner-ups will also get a special recognition during the groundbreaking ceremony and a $25 gift card to Barnes & Noble Booksellers.

Essay submissions should be 300 words or less. Send your essay to the Cedar Rapids Public Library at 2600 Edgewood Rd. SW, Suite 330, Cedar Rapids, 52402. Or, e-mail it to info@crlibrary.org  no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25.  Submissions must include name, age, grade, email address (if you have one), and phone number.
